Introduction To Cupping For Bodyworkers
(Cupping For Bodyworkers 1 and Cupping For Bodyworkers 2: Sliding Cupping Techniques)

Learn the art of cupping therapy and integrate it into your practice! Cupping increases the beneficial results of your bodywork sessions with clients by increasing blood flow to damaged tissue and facilitating tissue repair. Cupping enhances healing post-trauma for acute and chronic pain patterns. This two day class will cover pain patterns that are commonly seen in practice and the most effective techniques to resolve them..

PARKING

There is a small parking lot in front of the clinic and on-street if the lot is full.
Be careful to avoid yellow curb near the fire hall on Broad St. Make sure you do't speed on Bridge Street! Speed limit 25mph.

WHAT TO WEAR AND WHAT TO BRING

Dress comfortably. We will be practicing cupping on each other.

You will need a set of cups pump cups and silicone cups, which can be purchased from links on the supplies page. If you’d like us to purchase a set for you, please let us know by January 9.

If you have a portable massage table, please bring it. Please contact one of us prior to class to confirm you are bringing a table.

NOTE: We do not need tables for the Jan 2019 class. We will use the tables in the acupuncture clinic.

 

Bring linens: sheets, face cradle covers, a light blanket for the massage table (whether or not you are bringing a table).

NOTE: For January 2019 you may use our clinic's light blankets, but please bring sheets and cradle covers.

 

Food: Please bring any snacks you may need throughout the day. We can get take-out food or you can bring a lunch. Our space has a toaster oven, micro-wave, and refrigerator for your convenience. Coffee & tea are available.

11:00    Details of vacuum pump cups to be used in class
              Demonstration of application to the body and creating vacuum 
              overview of patterns to be discussed in the afternoon
